Strawberryville defines local festival and soccer tournaments

20061009_troyTROY – The Troy Strawberry Festival announced the theme for the 2007 festival will be “Strawberryville,” a play on the famous Jimmy Buffett song, Margaritaville. The Troy Strawberry Festival Soccer Invitational and the Berry Special Olympics soccer tournaments are both part of the larger festival.

The festival is held annually in Troy, Oh. the first weekend in June. This year, the soccer tournament is scheduled for May 19 and 20. The Berry Special Olympics tournament will be held at the high school stadium during the festival on June 2.

According to the festival, over 250,000 people attend the event, which is one of the largest small-town festivals in the country. People can enjoy crafts, recreational activities, live entertainment, soccer and a variety of strawberry dishes.
